Jeweler Found Slain at His Business in Florida
A jeweler was found dead at his business in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Investigators discovered the body of Anthony D’Amore on Dec. 23 while performing a welfare check at the request of his wife, according to a bulletin from the Jewelers’ Security Alliance.
Authorities have arrested Nenad Milosevich, 56, on a charge of second-degree murder in connection with the death.
Police believe the men had a conflict related to a $20,000 Rolex watch. Investigators said D’Amore “had multiple neck, back and sub-scalp contusions, as well as abrasions to the back of his neck,” Local 10 reported.
According to JSA, officials obtained surveillance footage showing Milosevich entering the building with D’Amore, 73, after 10 on the night of the killing. Milosevich was described as a “family friend,” according to Local 10.
“Both men entered D’Amore’s business. Investigators also learned that Milosevich had picked up D’Amore from his home earlier in the evening,” JSA stated. “Surveillance footage showed Milosevich exited the business after 12:45 a.m. The Fort Lauderdale police report noted that Milosevich was ‘carrying a small bag’ and he had ‘items covered in a towel or blanket.’”
AdvertisementThe investigation revealed that Milosevich had unresolved payments to be made on the watch, and “he sought additional jewelry to purchase from D’Amore for his girlfriend in exchange for the monies he had already paid, which a detective believes led the two men to argue,” according to JSA, which added: “Investigators learned the deal for the watch went awry and D’Amore was increasing the price because Milosevic did not pay fast enough.”
