Kohl’s (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and Nordstrom (Seattle) are both launching separate shop-in-shop initiatives to bolster their apparel offerings. Kohl’s has launched a new, expanded dress department at the front of 700 of its 1100-plus stores, while Nordstrom has added shops from custom apparel maker Indochino (Vancouver, B.C.) at five more of its stores.
Here’s more on both efforts:
“As Kohl’s continues to amplify its polished casual and dress wear assortments for customers, the company identified dresses as an area for growth, particularly with white space in occasion, career and social dresses,” the company said in a statement posted on its website.
The shops currently have dresses from new brands, including London Times, Harper Rose, Taylor, Maison Tara, Nanette Lepore, Nicole Miller, Andrew Marc, Betsy & Adam and others. In addition, shoppers will also find a wider and amplified assortment of dresses from only-at-Kohl’s brands, including Draper James, Sonoma Goods for Life, Nine West, LC Lauren Conrad, Simply Vera Vera Wang and more.
Nordstrom, meantime, has offered Indochino made-to-measure shops in 27 of its stores since 2020, and is adding such spaces its stores in the following locales:
- Los Cerritos Center – Cerritos, Calif.
- Alderwood Mall – Lynnwood, Wash.
- Thousand Oaks – Thousand Oaks, Calif.
- Irvine Spectrum Center – Irvine, Calif.
- Fashion Centre at Pentagon City – Pentagon City, Va.
“With these latest additions, Indochino’s reach now extends to within 50 miles of more than 90% of the U.S. population, ensuring that customers across the country can enjoy the unparalleled experience of creating custom-tailored suits and apparel,” the companies said in a news release.
