* Back Market (Paris), a seller of verified refurbished electronics, has taken the wraps off its first physical store, a long-term pop-up at 449 Broadway in Soho. “When people experience refurbished tech in person, they see the quality, the savings, and the potential to live smarter,” said Thibaud Hug de Larauze, Back Market’s Co-Founder and CEO. “We believe this pilot can spark real trust and momentum for a more sustainable way forward.” The store opened at the start of this month and will operate through Dec. 21.
* Carhartt (Dearborn, Mich.) a premium workwear brand, has opened its latest store, in the Flatiron District. The location, at 936 Broadway, has 5000 square feet of space. “Electricians, plumbers, ironworkers and construction crews have shaped this city’s dramatic skyline and keep it running every day,” said Chad Cornstubble, the brand’s SVP of Direct-to-Consumer at Carhartt, in a release emailed to VMSD.com. “We’re excited to now directly serve the Big Apple’s workforce to meet an increased need for gear that celebrates what can be made possible through hard work – both on and off the job site.” With the opening, the brand has 57 stores nationwide.
