MaRC certification is the industry’s only globally recognized credential in the retail environments and experiences industry. This established program certifies individuals who have demonstrated their job knowledge of the activities that drive shopper purchases at retail. The MaRC exam content is based on the five phases of the Shop! Value Cycle: Research, Design, Build, Execute, and Evaluate.
Professional certification demonstrates that you have a foundational knowledge of the way our industry works, which is essential to a best-in-class performance. Companies can use the certification to train employees and promote their continued professional development.
MaRC certification relies on third-party evaluation to distinguish candidates who meet the criteria established by their field. The designation has a cycle of three years and may be renewed only by satisfying the requirements for recertification.

Shop! offers our members many ways to market their companies and generate leads. One such tool is our online and print sourcing guide, Supplier Connect. Members of Shop! automatically receive a free listing, which includes a company overview and contact information, at minimum.
The website alone receives an average of 1,250 searches a month. Our annual print Buyers’ Guide is sent to our full magazine audience of 25,000-plus retailers, brands and industry suppliers, and features the products, services and capabilities of more than 850 member companies.
A listing on Supplier Connect provides opportunities for business development based on the services you provide. Anyone searching for a supplier can look up your business by category or name to get immediate contact information.
Both are year-round reference tools that the industry has come to rely on. In our annual magazine readership survey, Supplier Connect always tracks as the top industry search tool.
Shop! members receive a 25% discount off the cost of booth space at GlobalShop. As a result, some 80% of the exhibitors showing are members. We are proud not only to have such strong member participation at GlobalShop but to host six educational conference sessions, produce the industry’s largest awards celebration, and provide networking opportunities for our members.
To kick off GlobalShop, each year we hold a private party for members and their guests the night before the show opens. It’s a great way for members who are exhibiting or visiting the show to mingle, see old industry friends, or make new ones.
