A half-dozen retailers have won ENERGY STAR 2023 Awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for their efforts to utilize cost-saving energy efficiency solutions that protect the climate, improve air quality and protect public health. Included among this year’s 221 winners are:
- Best Buy (Richfield, Minn.)
- Food Lion (Salisbury, N.C.)
- JC Penney (Plano, Texas)
- Kohl’s (Menomonee Falls, Wis.)
- Target (Minneapolis)
- The Home Depot (Atlanta)
Since its inception in 1992 under the authority of the Clean Air Act, the EPA says ENERGY STAR and its partners have helped prevent over 4 billion tons of greenhouse gas emissions, while saving consumers and businesses over $500 billion.
