Trader Joe’s Plans 12 New Locales
Specialty grocer Trader Joe’s (Monrovia, Calif.) has unveiled plans on its website to open a dozen new stores in the coming months.
The stores will be in:
• Berwyn, Pa.
• Brookland and Washington-Friendship Heights, Washington, D.C.
• Hoover, Ala.
• Murfreesboro, Tenn.
• Rockville, Md.
• Seattle-Greenwood and Bellingham-North
• Sherman Oaks, Northridge and Tarzana, Calif.
• Staten Island, N.Y.
While the web listings included street addresses, no further information on when each store will open was provided. Overall, as of mid-December, the chain had 608 stores in the United States, according to data compiler ScrapeHero.
In many cases, these openings represent wishes fulfilled for the communities involved. Trader Joe’s are so popular that locales without one often run “open a TJ’s in my hometown, please” campaigns to get the brand’s attention.
