Urban Outfitters Names New President, Posts Record 4Q
$1.3 billion in net sales for a single quarter is a new high-water mark
Urban Outfitters (Philadelphia) has appointed Francis Pierrel its new president, Chain Store Age reports.
Pierrel is the former CEO of Club Monaco, a position he held from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, he served as the president of stores and e-commerce for Ralph Lauren. He will report to global CEO Sheila Harrington.
The apparel brand also reported record-breaking net sales of $1.33 billion for the quarter ending Jan. 31. The figure marks a 13.9% increase compared to the pre-pandemic quarter ending Jan. 31, 2020, the article says.
Urban Outfitters (URBN) has 261 locations in the US, Canada and Europe. The company employs about 19,000 people, about 50 percent of whom are full-time. It also operates the Anthropologie and Free People brands.
