$250K in Watches Stolen in California Robbery

Watches worth a total of $250,000 were taken in a smash-and-grab robbery in Newport Beach, CA.

The crime happened Sept. 8 at Jewelers On Time, NBC Los Angeles reports.

A man entered the store and requested to see a Rolex watch, at which point he was asked to show identification. He claimed he need to go to his car to get his ID, and when the jeweler buzzed him out, three men stormed through the door. They smashed jewelry cased and made off with nearly two dozen watches.
