Apple Plans First India Store

After years of teasing plans for a storefront in India, Apple (Cupertino, Calif.) released a photograph this past week of the barricade around its soon-to-be first retail store in Mumbai. The location will be housed in the high-end commercial space called Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), part of the Jio World Drive mall, reports Quartz.

Apple has previously sold its products and offered a variety of services in India through authorized third parties or online. A statement posted to Apple’s India website read: “Hello, Mumbai. We are getting ready to welcome you aboard our first store in India. And raring to see where your creativity takes you at Apple BKC.”

Though there an official opening date for the store has not been unveiled, reports anticipate the location may open sometime this month.
