L.L. Bean Plans Stores for U.S., Canada

L.L. Bean (Freeport, Maine) has announced its plans to open several new stores in Canada and the U.S., all slated to open this fall, according to a company press release.

Two new stores in Canada will include one in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec (opening Aug. 25), and another in Boisbriand, Quebec (opening Sept. 29). The U.S. stores will be located in Hanover and Peabody, Mass., opening Sept. 8 and Oct. 6 respectively.

The retailer also unveiled its plans to launch a French-language e-commerce website for Canada. Additionally, it announced two new wholesale accounts and a “lineup of independent specialty retailers,” bringing L.L. Bean products to e-commerce platforms as well as 70 new storefronts.

Stephen Smith, President and CEO, L.L. Bean, says, “Our omnichannel growth strategy continues to be an effective framework for our business, ensuring we’re able to meet customers where they are through a unique mix of channels and locations.”

L.L. Bean operates 56 U.S. locations as well as 25 stores in Japan. It also has 13 licensed retail stores in Canada operated by Jaytex Group.
