Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World Set for Southwest Ohio
Retailer combining Bass Pro and Cabela’s stores to single locale
Bass Pro Shops (Springfield, Mo.) said it will open its latest Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World store in West Chester, Ohio, on Feb. 21. The new, 125,000-square-foot Outdoor World store near the intersection of Union Centre Boulevard and I-75 will replace two existing stores that are in the process of closing: A Bass Pro store located 7 miles away and a Cabela’s located 12 miles away.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to expand the offering of outdoor gear we provide the passionate sportsmen and women of this tristate region, and we hope the community is proud of how this new store reflects Ohio’s rich sporting heritage,” said Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris. “The all-new Outdoor World will offer an even larger assortment of the products our customers love to make it easier for the many people and families to spend time together in the great outdoors.”
The new location will also host dozens of events throughout the year to connect new audiences– particularly children – to the outdoors. Hands-on demonstrations and interactive activities will be offered, such as “Gone Fishing,” an annual event that aims to introduce families to fishing through catch-and-release ponds, casting games, and free fishing seminars to create the next generation of conservationists.
The Bass Pro Shop that’s closing is part of the former Forest Fair Mall just off I-275 on Cincinnati’s north side, while the Cabela’s is a freestanding unit farther north of the city, near the intersection of I-75 and Liberty Way.
