Tumi (New York) plans to open a store/showroom adjacent to its upcoming headquarters in New York’s Midtown South, the Commercial Observer reports. The store, which is slated to debut this spring, will occupy a 5200-square-foot space on the ground floor of 180 Madison Avenue at 34th Street, Crain’s New York Business first reported.
The store/showroom will include a photography studio, magnetic wall and demonstration table. It will be near a 20,000-square-foot space at 16 East 34th Street that Tumi is moving its headquarters into later this year, says Newmark’s Ross Kaplan, whose firm represented building owner PGIM in the deal. (Tumi’s offices are currently at 261 Fifth Avenue.)
“This isn’t a typical Tumi location; they wanted to incorporate an exciting showroom close to their headquarters,” says Kaplan. “We believe the opening of Tumi on 34th Street further solidifies the upward trajectory we see in the neighborhood.”
Tumi became a unit of Samsonite in 2016.
