20,000th Dollar General Store Opens
The milestone comes with plans to open 800 new stores this year

Dollar General (Goodlettsville, TN) opened its 20,000th store on Saturday in Alice, Texas. The discount chain said it plans to open 800 more brick-and-mortar stores, remodel 1,500 locations and relocate 85 in 2024 alone.
In celebration of the milestone, Dollar General said it employs more than 17,000 Texans. “Today marks an incredible milestone in Dollar General’s history,” Steve Deckard, Dollar General’s Executive Vice President of Store Operations and Development, said in a statement.
