* Randy’s Donuts (Inglewood, Calif.) has opened its first shop in the Bay Area, reports The Mercury News. The latest locale, in Silicon Valley’s Santa Clara, is the first of several the brand plans for that market. The latest store is located across the street from Stan’s Donut Shop, a stalwart in the market since 1959, the newspaper noted. Randy’s has a total of 50-plus location in California, Arizona and Nevada, and overseas in South Korea and Japan.
* Shipley Donuts (Houston) signed franchise agreements for nine new shops, including entering three new markets, during the first half of 2026. As reported in its most recent earnings statement for the second quarter of this year, the chain inked franchise agreements for three shops in Cincinnati, two in Raleigh, N.C., and three in Stillwater, Okla. The brand, which will celebrate its 90th anniversary later this year, also opened its first location in El Paso, Texas, followed by new-market openings in Bossier City, La., and Vienna, Va. (As previously reported by VMSD.com, the second quarter also saw Shipley open its first-ever non-profit franchise location.) Overall, the brands has nearly 400 franchised and company-owned restaurants across 13 states.
