Jeweler Kidnapped, Shot and Robbed in North Carolina
Investigators believe the suspects have left the area
A jeweler in North Carolina was shot, robbed and kidnapped on Wednesday, police said.
Officers were dispatched at 8:21p.m. officers to a residence in Belmont.
“Officers arrived on scene and were informed by the victim that he had been shot and robbed by four men wearing ski masks at his jewelry store on South New Hope Road in Gastonia. The victim was kidnapped from Gastonia and brought back to his residence on Amberley Crossing Drive,” the Belmont Police Department stated in a Facebook post.
The jeweler was taken to CaroMont Regional Medical Center, where he was being treated for a single gunshot wound to the back.
Police did not release the identity of the jeweler. A report from WBTV identified the store as TIF Designs on South New Hope Road.
“All evidence at this time leads investigators to believe that the suspects left the area,” police said.
