Zara (Municipality of Arteixo, Spain) plans to reopen its stores in the Ukraine, according to Women’s Wear Daily and Zara’s parent company Inditex, after it had suspended operations in the country Feb. 2022.
At least 50-80 of its stores will begin reopening April 1, but more than 30 locations – all located in ongoing war zones – will remain closed for now.
Despite having its locations closed since Feb. 2022, the company has continued to pay salaries for its employees there, WWD reports.
Inditex also shuttered 514 Zara stores in Russia around the same time, selling the operations to UAE-based Daher Group in April 2023.
