The following four retail and grocery leaders have been named to the GS1 U.S. Board of Governors:

  • Benjamin Hamilton, Kroger’s VP, Supply Chain Planning;

“As supply chains continue rapid transformation to meet rising consumer expectations, our board’s leadership is vital in shaping how industries work together to improve operations, transparency and customer experiences,” said Bob Carpenter, GS1 US’s President and CEO. “Each of these esteemed individuals brings valuable insight and proven leadership that will help strengthen GS1 US initiatives, leading to shared value for all the industries we serve.”

Other companies represented on the GS1 U.S. Board include Amazon; The Coca-Cola Co,; Dot Foods Inc.; eBay, Inc.; Google; Johnson & Johnson; PepsiCo; The Procter & Gamble Co.; PVH Corp.; Target; Topco Associates; Wakefern Food Corp.; and Wegmans Food Markets Inc.

The executives from those companies comprise a cross-industry board of governors that guides the GS1 U.S. strategy to drive greater adoption and use of GS1 Standards to increase supply chain efficiency and visibility across apparel, general merchandise, retail grocery, foodservice and healthcare sectors.
