Kay Jewelers Launches Biggest Rebrand in Company History
Leading jewelry chain tells WWD its “Love All In” campaign, refreshed stores and leaner assortment mark its biggest overhaul in over a century.
Kay Jewelers, Signet Jewelers’ largest division, has launched a sweeping rebranding effort centered on a new campaign called “Love All In,” according to WWD. Kay president Julie Yoakum told the fashion trade magazine that the strategy touches three areas: brand, product and the in-store experience, calling it a “three-legged stool” the company has been developing for the past year.
According to the report, Kay has cut its product assortment by about 20% while sharpening its focus on custom pieces and men’s jewelry. “We had too much product, it was confusing,” Yoakum said, adding that the company has been paring down the assortment in every category over the course of the year. Kay has also redesigned its website with improved navigation and more curated product presentation, and is fast-tracking its Jaxxon digital brand, aimed at younger customers with sports-inspired gold chains and bracelets.
In stores — 1,003 total, including 882 Kay locations and 121 outlets — Kay is piloting an “open sell” concept allowing customers to handle Rocksbox jewelry (acquired by Signet in 2021) outside of locked cases, and is rolling out men’s shops with jewelry and watches to about 200 locations.
The Love All In campaign broadens Kay’s messaging beyond traditional milestones like birthdays and anniversaries to include moments such as new friendships or job promotions, Yoakum told WWD. The platform launched with a 60-second spot, “Fall In,” set to Charli XCX’s “Everything Is Romantic” featuring Caroline Polachek.
The rebrand comes as parent company Signet reported a return to profitability for its second quarter ended Aug. 1.
