A second iteration of The Corner Store (New York) will open soon in Las Vegas. The self-described “playful and elevated take on a classic American joint” concept, by Tilman Fertitta, Eugene Remm and the Catch Hospitality Group team helmed by Chef Michael Vignola, will debut at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Nov. 9.

Like the original The Corner Store in New York’s SoHo, the Vegas version has been designed by Rockwell Group and it seeks to “translate the warmth and lived-in character of a classic New York neighborhood spot to the grand scale and glamour of The Cosmopolitan,” partners said in a news release. (Images of the restaurant are not yet available.)

Located on the resort’s third floor, rather than along a traditional streetscape, the restaurant’s façade evokes the intrigue of a hidden New York corner store with wood-framed doors, tinted fluted glass, layered amber drapery, illuminated stained-glass artwork and art deco-inspired accents.

Once inside, patrons venture through a sequence of distinct yet interconnected spaces featuring burl wood, antique mirrors, marble, velvet vintage lighting. First up is the main bar, followed by the Martini Room that’s centered around a striking green onyx bar.

As for the main dining room, its design channels vintage train cars, with railored banquettes, herringbone wood floors, arched architectural details and a gallery of New York designed to connect the space to the downtown edge and nostalgia of the SoHo original.

Adjacent to that area is a private dining room that can accommodate up to 24 guests and will feature golden plaster, polished burl wood, layered lighting and a flexible partition that can divide the room into two more intimate spaces.

The opening of The Corner Store at The Cosmopolitan expands the collaboration between MGM Resorts and Catch Hospitality Group. The two companies first partnered to open CATCH at ARIA Resort & Casino in 2018.
