Walgreens (Deerfield, Ill.) exec Manmohan Mahajan has become permanent CFO of the company. The pharmacy retailer also made two other management announcements, according to a press release, including the appointment of former Hanesbrands exec Elizabeth Burger to Chief HR Officer and former CVS exec Mary Langowski to Executive VP, President, U.S. Healthcare.
Walgreens CEO Tim Wentworth says, [Thursday’s] “announcement solidifies the leadership team that will carry WBA (Walgreens Boots Alliance) into its future as we look to expand our reach beyond neighborhood pharmacies into the fastest-growing areas of healthcare … We have a strong team with a track record of operational excellence and an unwavering commitment to the execution of our goals.”
The management shakeups come after layoffs and other financial challenges faced by the company in recent months.
