$100,000 Theft Case: Former Jewelry Store Employee Sentenced in New York State
He pleaded guilty to taking jewelry and money from his employer.

A former jewelry store worker who pleaded guilty to stealing from his employer has been sentenced to five years of probation.
Jason T. Badagliacca, 38, of Orchard Park, NY, pleaded guilty in May to one count of second-degree grand larceny, a felony. He had worked as inventory manager for a local jewelry store, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.
Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announces that Jason T. Badagliacca, 38, of Orchard Park was sentenced this afternoon before Erie County Court Justice Kenneth F. Case to five years of probation.
Between September 2021 and August 2022, Badagliacca stole $100,000 worth of money and inventory from his employer, stated Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane.
According to Keane:
The defendant engaged in the theft by stealing precious stones and jewelry and then selling the items on the side as well as pocketing cash payments customers who financed their purchases made on their account. The defendant attempted to conceal the thefts by manipulating business records relating to inventory and income. The theft was uncovered by an audit.
AdvertisementAs a condition of his plea, Badagliacca agreed to pay full restitution to the store’s insurer.
He was sentenced by Erie County Court Justice Kenneth F. Case.
