Signs of the Times, a sister publication of Shop! Association, is proud to announce the winners of the 2023 Women in Signs awards. Sponsored by Watchfire Signs and ZUND America, and hosted in partnership with the International Sign Association (ISA), the third-annual program honors exceptional women and gender-expansive industry professionals who have excelled in ownership/management, design, fabrication, installation, sales or marketing.

The 2023 winners are …

  • Maggie Harlow, owner, Signarama Downtown (Louisville, KY)
  • Kelsey Dalton McClellan, owner, Heart and Bone Signs (Chicago)
  • Indu Sanka, CEO, FSGS (Lewisville, TX)
  • Sharon Toji, owner, H Toji and Co., (Lakewood, CA)
  • Elizabeth Arenella Toynes, partner, Studio Dzo (Austin, TX)

In February, we put out a call for nominees who spurred innovation, fueled business growth or otherwise made a significant, positive impact within their sign company, industry association or sign-associated philanthropic organization. We received nearly 240 entries for more than 120 individual nominees throughout the US and Canada.

From there, we narrowed the field to 37 impressive nominees. Then our industry panel of esteemed judges — all of whom were winners last year — chose the five recipients using a points-based system.

Thank you to our 2023 judges:

  • Dawn Homa, owner, Signarama Brighton (Brighton, CO)
  • Jenn-Jenn Marshall, founder and CEO, SIGNFLOWS (San Diego) and GreenHive Signage (Los Angeles)
  • Allison Moz, wayfinding partner, eyecandy SIGNS (Halifax, NS, Canada)

The 2023 Women in Signs winners will each be featured in ST‘s April issue and will be celebrated during a cocktail reception at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12 at the ISA International Sign Expo in Las Vegas (Booth #1653). Stay tuned for more details.
