Academy Sports + Outdoors to Open Nine Stores
Fall debuts will expand brand’s footprint in eight states

Academy Sports + Outdoors (Katy, Texas), a full-line sporting goods and outdoor recreation retailer, has unveiled plans for nine new stores this fall. The added stores will join the three new stores the brand has opened thus far this fiscal year and will contribute to the 15-17 new stores it plans for fiscal 2024.
The stores offer shoppers apparel, footwear, sports and camping equipment, hunting and fishing gear, outdoor cooking and more from national and private-label brands.
“Academy Sports + Outdoors is excited to continue our company growth with nine new stores this fall, making shopping with us more convenient than ever in existing markets and providing new customers with the best localized assortment of sports apparel, footwear, equipment and outdoor gear,” said Eric Friederich, SVP of Retail Operations. “Academy is looking forward to helping more active families have fun out there and become the new go-to destination for customers looking for the top brands at the lowest prices.”
The fall openings will be in:
• Beckley, W. Va.
• Kingsport, Tenn.

• Springfield, Ohio
• Bulverde, Texas
