Bookseller Barnes & Noble (New York) is teaming with video/film company A24 to install spaces that “bring the studio’s signature storytelling to life” inside select B&N stores, the companies said in a news release. The partnership is launching this month in 20 stores, and will expand from there next year.
Dubbed the A24 Shop experience, the custom-designed section will showcase the brand’s bestsellers along with new products inspired by its award-winning IP, including A24 Books, Blu-rays, Vinyl, collectibles and exclusive merchandise. This partnership includes events like the recent launch of Eleanor Coppola’s final memoir “Two of Me: Notes on Living & Leaving,” which featured an in-store live conversation between Sofia and Roman Coppola, moderated by Vogue editor Keaton Bell.
“Storytelling has always been at the heart of Barnes & Noble, and we’re thrilled to partner with A24, the home for storytelling on screen,” says Bill Castle, the bookseller’s Director of Media. This partnership gives fans another way to experience the stories, films, and artists they love.”
Here are some of the stores getting the initial batch of A24 studios:
• Los Angeles: The Grove at Farmers Market
• New York: Union Square
• Orlando: Colonial Plaza Market Center
• Bloomington, Minn.: Mall of America
• Oak Brook, Ill.: Oakbrook Center
• Portland, Ore.: Clackamas Town Center Mall
• Seattle: Northgate Mall

The company, which currently has 700-plus stores across the U.S., is also in the midst of a major expansion. Just this month, it has launched new stores in Orange, Calif.; Brownsville, Burleson and Spring, Texas; Pittsburgh and Dickson City, Pa.; Lakeland, Fla.; Lansing, Mich.; and Hamilton, Ohio; and has also reopened renovated locales in Long Beach, Calif., and Park Slope, Brooklyn.
