‘I came into this place that I worked hard for 13 years to build … and it was wiped,’ said one of the owners
A group of at least six people cut through the wall of a jewelry store in a burglary in Schaumburg, IL.
They got into Marquise Jewelers on Aug. 1 by cutting through from a vacant store next door, NBC Chicago reported.
They took about $1 million in jewelry, according to NBC Chicago.
ABC Chicago put the amount at $1.5 million and reported that the burglars tunneled through multiple stores. Marquise Jewelers is located in Woodfield Mall.
The store owners said the thieves took everything.
“I came into this place that I worked hard for 13 years to build … and it was wiped,” said Shazad Malik. “I was speechless at that point.”
