Craft Pizza in Jerusalem Takes Design Cues from Italy: PHOTOS
A stone interior is complemented by references to the neighborhood’s golden building elements
Recently opened in Shuk Machane Yehuda market in Jerusalem and designed by Studio Samuelov (Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel), Craft Pizza’s interior drew inspiration from classic Italian design motifs as well as the golden hues found in nearby buildings throughout its surrounding neighborhood.
Upon entering, customers are greeted by a large charcoal pizza oven at the heart of the 1184-square-foot space. Aiming to create a cozy yet sophisticated aesthetic, an attention-grabbing granite bar surrounds the oven with simple brown leather bar chairs playing directly into Craft Pizza’s Italian inspiration; its stone interior and black-and-white tile flooring also recall an Italian feel.
Referencing the golden building elements found throughout the surrounding neighborhood, the restaurant’s booths are yellow, and the interior lighting is strategically used to create a golden glow throughout.
