* eBay (San Jose) is temporarily bringing its online marketplace to life in New York’s SoHo, with The NYC Edit Market – an in-person, physical retail space where guests must list an item on eBay to gain entry. The market will feature pieces inspired by The NYC Edit – eBay’s recently launched online editorial guide highlighting what style insiders in the city are buying and selling on the platform. The shop will operate April 17–19 at 489 Broome St., between Broadway and Sixth Avenue.
* Part of the Empire State Building’s 95th anniversary celebration will include a pop-up ice cream shop by chocolatier Ghirardelli Chocolate Co. (San Francisco). That installation will operate on the tower’s famed 86th-floor observation deck through May 10. It will feature a store-like façade that appears to be in the grasp of a likeness of King Kong, who scaled the skyscraper in the movies bearing his name. The shop’s main offer will be the “Ghirardelli Kong Sundae,” featuring handcrafted hot fudge, whipped cream, diced almonds, a cherry and a chocolate Kong on top. (Ghirardelli has also operated a 2800-square-foot store in the building’s ground floor since 2024.)
* Later this month, Macy’s (New York) will host its annual flower show at its hometown flagship on Herald Square, and, new this year, at its State Street store in Chicago. Built around the theme of “Homegrown,” the show’s 51st edition in New York will feature Valentino Beauty on the store’s main floor from April 23 to May 10, with floral displays and Mother’s Day festivities. The Chicago rendition of the event will run April 16 to May 10.
