Teens’ Likes Tracked
Nike, Chick-fi-A, e.l.f. Beauty and TikTok tops with Gen Z, survey finds

To find out which brands resonate most with today’s younger consumers, investment banker Piper Sandler Cos. has completed and issued the results of its 48th semi-annual “Taking Stock With Teens” survey in partnership with DECA.
“Piper Sandler is excited to showcase the results of our fall 2024 survey, which offers an inside look at how over 13,500 U.S. teens are spending their money and its direct impact on our economy,” said Korinne Wolfmeyer, Senior Research Analyst at Piper Sandler. “This fall, teens self-reported spending at $2,361, a 4% increase compared to our spring survey, and Nike and e.l.f. Beauty continue to prove their wallet dominance as number one preferences in apparel/footwear and beauty, respectively.”
The survey also identified teens’ technology and social media use, with TikTok emerging as their favorite social app; and their restaurant and beverage preferences, which showed Chick-fil-A continues to be the preferred chain restaurant among teens and that such consumers prefer energy drinks over coffee and soda as their source of energy, with Monster beverages being the favorite.
