The Home Depot (Atlanta) plans to open about 15 new stores this year. The home-improvement giant disclosed that number in the news release on the financial results for its fiscal year ended Feb. 1.
The company did not detail the locations of the planned sites. Last year, it opened 12 new stores, giving it a total of 2359 retail stores and over 1250 SRS Distribution locations as of the start of its new fiscal year.
As for its financial performance, during its recently completed year, The Home Depot reported sales of $164.7 billion, an increase of $5.2 billion from a year earlier, and net earnings of $14.2 billion, down from $14.8 billion.
“Adjusting for storms, underlying demand was relatively stable throughout the year,” said President and CEO Ted Decker.
