Buyer of Reebok’s U.S. Unit Identified
Galaxy Universal plans more full-price stores for shoe brand

Last week, when JCPenney and Sparc Group unveiled their new partnership, the latter firm said it had sold its U.S. Reebok unit to an unidentified party. The ID of that buyer has now stepped forward, Retail Dive reports: It’s Galaxy Universal LLC (New York), whose portfolio also includes And1, Gaiam and Tony Hawk.
Making that revelation was Ivy Solari, VP of Digital Commerce at Reebok, who did so at National Retail Federation’s Big Show conference on Sunday. And while Reebok’s brick-and-mortar presence currently focuses on outlets, RD reports the company’s new owners are “looking forward to opening some more full-price or experiential stores,” said Solari, whose company is also a licensee for the Justice and London Fog brands.
Reebok currently operates about 50 stores in the U.S., most in premium outlet malls.
