Max Mara, Sister Brand Debut in New Mixed-Use Complex

Affiliated women’s banners open boutiques in Vancouver’s Oakridge Park.

Max Mara and Weekend Max Mara (both Regio Emilio, Italy) have taken the wraps off their new boutiques at the new Oakridge Park complex in Vancouver, B.C. The brands previously operated stores at the shopping mall that was razed to make way for the new, mixed-use development that includes space for up to 100 retailers in 650,000 square feet of space.

Operated by Vancouver-based Vestis Fashion Group, the Western Canadian partner of Max Mara, the boutiques feature assortments and services tailored to the Vancouver market and not available elsewhere. The Max Mara boutique is the exclusive Canadian home of Atelier, the house’s top outerwear collection, while the Weekend Max Mara is the exclusive North American home of its Inserimento collection. (Those offerings make Oakridge Park the only destination in North America to have both collections from the brand.)

Max Mara, 3160 square feet, South Galleria

• Features natural Italian materials, including Ceppo di Grè stone, Calacatta marble, brushed brass, ribbed glass and hand-applied lime plaster.
• Designed as a sculptural environment defined by light, proportion and material contrasts.

Weekend Max Mara, 1836 square feet, East Galleria

• Reimagines the atmosphere of a contemporary Italian home.
• Incorporates tonal wood finishes, geometric cement tiles, checkerboard motifs, and vintage-inspired Italian landscape wallpaper.

“The opening of Max Mara and Weekend Max Mara at Oakridge Park represents a nostalgic important milestone, bringing our most exclusive collections back to Oakridge,” said Harriet Guadagnuolo, the brands’ VP of Retail.
