* Bubba’s 33 (Louisville, Ky.), a sister brand of Texas Roadhouse, will build a new restaurant in the eastern Columbus suburb of Reynoldsburg. To make room for that eatery, the restaurateur will tear down the TGI Fridays currently on the site on Taylor Road SW, The Columbus Dispatch notes. It will be the chain’s third site in Ohio; the others are in Canton and Toledo; an opening date for the Central Ohio site was not immediately available.

* A Dick’s House of Sport will take over space being vacated by a JCPenneydepartment store in Nashville. The new sporting goods store will take over the department store’s space in the CoolSprings Galleria this fall, when Penney’s lease expires. The 100,000-square-foot Dick’s concept planned for the site is expected to open in early 2028.

* A second Palladino’s steakhouse has debuted in a former liquor store in Preston Hollow, an upscale neighborhood on Dallas’ north side, The Dallas Morning News reports. Joseph Palladino opened the first such restaurant nine months ago, in a space overlooking Grand Central Terminal’s Main Concourse in New York. Palladino, a New York police officer-turned-restaurateur, is no stranger to the Dallas market, the newspaper notes, given his previous involvement in Nick and Sam’s, a high-end Uptown steakhouse, and as a co-owner and co-founder of Coal Vines Pizzeria and Wine Bar.
