Store Openings: Five Below, PriceSmart and Rural King

* Five Below Inc. (Philadelphia), which describes itself as “the trend-right, extreme-value brand for the kid and the kid in all of us,” will open its 2000th store on July 17 in LaGrange, Ga. “We know our unique retail concept has a lot of runway ahead with thousands of new stores across the U.S.,” CEO Winnie Park said in a news release on the landmark opening.

* PriceSmart (San Diego) has unveiled plans for its first store in Chile and its eleventh in Costa Rica. The Chilean warehouse club is set to debut in spring 2027 within the Mallplaza Los Dominicos shopping center in Comuna Las Condes, Santiago. Also slated to open at roughly the same time is the brand’s latest site in Costa Rica, in Santo Tomas de Santo Domingo. Those openings will give the members-only PriceSmart banner 63 locales in Latin America and the Caribbean.

* Family-owned Rural King (Mattoon, Ill.) is adding two stores in Ohio, bringing its grand total of locales there to 32. Its store in Ontario in the north-central part of the state debuted on July 10, and its upcoming locale in central Ohio’s Lancaster will open its doors July 17. Founded in 1960, the chain offers products for livestock, pets, birds, automotive needs, power equipment, power tools, grilling, food and snacks, and cleaning products at 150-plus stores in 17 states.
