The first-ever Donguri Republic store in the U.S. – focused on Studio Ghibli licensed products from popular animated films like “My Neighbor Totoro,” “Spirited Away,” “Howl’s Moving Castle,” and more – will open at the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrence, Calif., this June 23. The store will only be open through Dec. 31, 2026, reports IGN.

The store’s design will “recreate the warmth and wonder of Studio Ghibli’s storytelling through a beautifully designed retail experience featuring wood-inspired interiors, whimsical displays and a giant Totoro waiting at a bus stop for the Cat bus,” according to IGN. (You can see other retailer’s other store designs on the Donguri Republic website here.)

Studio Ghibli Inc. was founded in 1985 by director Hayao Miyazaki, producer Toshio Suzuki and director Isao Takahata, and has produced a number of world-acclaimed animated films (many written and directed by Miyazaki) like “Princess Mononoke,” and “Ponyo,” among many others.
