Japanese fast-fashion retailer Uniqlo (Tokyo) has unveiled plans to open five additional Canadian stores this fall. The new locations will join the brand’s 37 existing stores across the country.

The new stores will be in:

• Conestoga Mall in Waterloo, Ont.
• Hillcrest Mall in Richmond Hill, Ont.
• Quartier DIX30 in Brossard, Que.
• St. Vital Centre in Winnipeg, Man.
• Tsawwassen Mills in Tsawwassen, B.C.

Exact opening dates for the stores will be disclosed in coming weeks. The stores’ central offering will be the brand’s LifeWear line, which it describes as “simple, high-quality apparel designed to enhance everyday life.”

“The opening of these new locations reflects our continued investment in communities where Canadian customers have embraced LifeWear,” said Yuya Tanahashi, COO of Toronto-based Uniqlo Canada. “We look forward to expanding our presence in these markets and creating even more opportunities for customers to experience Uniqlo.”

Uniqlo opened its first store in Hiroshima in 1984 and its first one in Canada in 2016. Overall, the brand operates 2500-plus stores worldwide.
