The Container Store (Coppell, Texas) is undertaking a chainwide “Store Changing” sales event to make way for merchandise from Bed Bath & Beyond, which bought the 98-unit storage solutions retailer early this month.

The sale begins today (April 24) and will run over extended store hours through the weekend. It involves liquidating roughly 30% of TCS’ categories and SKUs “to streamline assortments, improve space productivity and create room for new products expected to arrive in phases later this year,” The Container Store said in a news release. “The initiative is a planned step in reimagining the combined in-store experience.”

“This is a reset with purpose,” said Jen Pape, SVP of Stores at The Container Store. “We are actively reshaping our stores to make room for what’s next. By streamlining select categories today, we’re creating the space and flexibility needed to introduce Bed Bath & Beyond products and deliver a more complete home experience for our customers.”

Beginning in May, the locations involved are expected to begin transitioning over the following months to The Container Store + Bed Bath & Beyond format, representing the company’s future operating model. The reimagined stores will combine The Container Store’s organizing solutions, in-home services and expertise with an expanded home assortment and complementary offerings from Bed Bath & Beyond.
