World’s Best Department Stores Ranked
London has three locales (including #1) in the top 10; NY and Paris have two each

To keep customers coming through the door, department stores often go above and beyond to provide a luxurious shopping experience. So, which such shopping emporia are best at that approach?
A recent study by CouponPi attempted to answer that question by compiling a list of the 50 most famous department stores worldwide and then analyzing more than 46,000 online reviews to uncover which ones were viewed as tops by consumers.
The top 10:
- Fortnum & Mason, Picadilly, London
- El Palacio de Hierro, Polanco, Mexico City
- Liberty London, Regent Street, London
- Arnotts, Henry Street, Dublin
- Selfridges, Oxford Street, London
- Printemps, Haussman, Paris
- Takashimaya Department Store, Ngee Ann City, Singapore
- Bloomingdale’s, 59th Street, New York
- Saks Fifth Avenue, Midtown Manhattan, New York
- Le Bon Marche, 7th Arrondissement, Paris
In a separate ranking, Saks Fifth Avenue was named the best department store for Christmas shopping, followed by Le Bon Marché in Paris and Liberty London in London.
