Apple is once again the world’s most valuable brand, according to Brand Finance. In its latest annual survey, the brand-valuation consultancy values Apple’s brand at $574.5 billion.

Apple has a substantial retail presence, as it sells the electronics it manufactures through a network of 500-plus stores of its own (and at other retail outlets). The only pure-play retailer to crack the top 10 on the list is Walmart, which is also the world’s largest such business, with more than 10,600 stores (including Sam’s Warehouse Clubs).

According to Brand Finance’s research, nine out of the 10 most valuable brands in the world are technology brands:

  • Apple: brand value – $574.5 billion
  • Microsoft: $461 billion
  • Google: $413 billion
  • Amazon: $356.4 billion
  • Walmart: $137.2 billion
  • Samsung Group: $110 billion
  • TikTok/Douyin: $105.8 billion
  • Facebook: $91.5 billion
  • NVIDIA: $87.9 billion
  • State Grid Corp. of China: $85.6 billion

In addition to Walmart, other retailers in the top 100 are: Home Depot (17); McDonald’s (42); Starbucks (45); Louis Vuitton (55); Lowe’s (63); Target (71); CVS (72); and Hermes (98).

“Our analysis of what brands have grown the most since 2020 reveals that technology companies do not have a monopoly on sustained brand growth,” said Brand Finance Founder and CEO David Haigh. “This also reinforces another global trend: how Chinese brands like TikTok, Pinduoduo and BYD lead the charge by creating value and challenging established brand leaders.”
