Ballard Designs Makes California Debut

Furniture design and retailer Ballard Designs (Atlanta) has taken the wraps off its first California store, in the Cedros Avenue Design District of Solana Beach. The 7400 square foot space north of San Diego is part of Ballard’s ongoing retail build-out, which now consists of 24 stores in 15 states.

“Since the very beginning of our national retail expansion, we’ve always been ‘California Dreamin’,” said President Karen Mooney. “And this year, the dream is finally coming true. Solana Beach is a picture-perfect spot for our first California location. With its position on the gorgeous bluffs overlooking the Pacific, fabulous shopping and family-friendly lifestyle, Solana Beach has a charming small-town feel, and a big love for great design. Ballard Designs will be that place where friends meet, shop and have fun decorating together.”

Inside the new store, guests can browse decorated room vignettes featuring the brand’s exclusive selection of furniture, lighting, rugs, bedding and home décor, including a signature line by designer Suzanne Kasler. Outdoor furniture will also be featured year-round to accommodate Californians’ love for open-air entertaining. The space also offers a staffed design center offering samples of hundreds of designer fabrics.

Founded in 1982, Ballard Designs is part of Qurate Retail Group, which includes also QVC, HSN, Frontgate, Garnet Hill and Grandin Road.
