DEPARTMENT STORE Marks & Spencer (London) has revealed its transformed Pantheon flagship store on London’s Oxford Street.

The transformation reimagined the store’s food, fashion and home and beauty departments, encompassing four floors and 100,000 square feet.

The design showcases the department store’s new “R&D” concept, which will be the blueprint for future Marks & Spencer stores. Marks & Spencer will “test and learn” from these features to incorporate at other locations, according to a company press release.

On each floor, curated collections are showcased in dedicated rooms. These rooms feature “dedicated product moments,” architectural features, ambient lighting, warm and green color palettes and “bespoke scents.” Additionally, in a first for Marks & Spencer, menswear customers can create a made-to-order suit in-store.

“It’s a good example of our strategy to protect the magic and modernise the rest, holding on to the quality, style and value people know and trust us for, while making the experience more modern,” Stuart Machin, M&S Chief Executive, said in a press release. “We’ve still got a lot to do modernising our estate, with 25 years of catching up to do. But Pantheon is a big step forward.”
